SANTA CRUZ GET-AWAY!!!
After a very-hairy semester, we decided it was time for a much-needed vacation. What can be better than some time by the coast??? (Along with good munchies, a book and some sand toys) We booked camping reservations for New Brighton State Beach, a state park located in Capitola- a beautiful little coastal town just outside of Santa Cruz. Everyone questioned our judgement in taking such a young baby and a toddler camping. The reality is that they both are calmed by being outside. They did great. We have a cozy tent that fits our family well. The weather was wonderful- not necessarily bathing suit weather, but this did not stop us from puting on sweatshirts and trecking down to the sand. We spent 2 of our days at New Brighton Beach on 1 day at the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk. (Yes, we played on the rides!!!) Brooke and Chris Thompson came up with their children and brought along 2 other families from their ward. Noelle had so much fun playing with Nixon and Mazzy on the beach! All in all it was a fabulous trip! I forgot to bring my camping stove, which turned out to be the best mistake ever made. It took absolutely all of the stress out of camping. We ate out instead of cooking dinner and had pasteries for breakfast. I don't think I'll ever take the stove again! I'm going to try to squeeze in another trip this summer if anyone is interested in going-let us know! (Early July?)I'm having trouble pulling up pictures under my log-in. I'll have Dan post tomorrow.

What are the odds....Tony and I were just talking about going camping this last weekend and to where else, but New Brighton Beach. Let us know when you go again, we are up for going too. Looks like it was a great get away! When do you move to Utah? -Courtney

I love, love that picture of Noelle and Mazzy. I can't believe how big corom is getting. Holy Cow, he is going to be such a big boy by the time we see him in July! Wish we were there to spent time with you and play with the kids! Love you.
Looks like you guys had so much fun! I know that Santa Cruz, and the Boardwalk, hold special memories for Dan & I and it's so nice that you guys are able to make the same kinds of memories with your family. Maybe we'll be able to get away as a family for a weekend (or maybe a weekday!!) before you guys head out...

That is too fun. Camping is one of our favorite things to do as a family. I wonder why? J/K We have so many good memories from our childhood camping experiences and we want to have same for our kids.
Hey, are you still moving to Utah? We are coming out to Cali August 13th-20th and I was wondering if you would still be in town? Do you think we could put together a cow potluck? I would love to get pics of all our kids.
