The Hot Chocolate Shop

When we first moved here, we were thrilled to be able to look out of one of our apartment windows and watch and wave to daddy as he walked home from school. (Such a thrill to small children and a wife who's been anticipating having a husband home all day) We loved it! Then...boom, boom, boom came the big trucks one day and the construction began. Bye! Bye! being able to see daddy's school building from our window. Seriously, just our luck considering that our apartments have been here since the age of dinosaurs. And then we found out what this terrible building was going to be and then the excitement began. For Noelle, the anticipation came in the form of a 3-year-old dream "Hot Chocolate Shop". Yes, we were now going to be neighbors with a bakery. (Wasn't I just blogging about wanting to loose weight?) The construction has been in progress for over a year. At one point I think they must have lost funding and all progress came to a stop. Anyone who knows Noelle well, has heard her making plans about the bakery opening. We marked the big day on our calendar and peeked in the windows prior to its opening. Finally the big day came, the anticipation being more than Christmas morning. Noelle woke up and got dressed, skipped the hair brushing and went straight to a hat, and hand-in-hand she and her daddy left to finally go get her hot chocolate. And yes, it was everything that she had ever dreamed of. I heard all of the details when she got home: the tile on the floor, the color on the walls, the way the tables looked. She gulped down her hot chocolate (With a straw of course, all part of the plan she had prepared) and refused to share her pound cake. She ate every last crumb. That was Monday, and ever since, she has been begging to go back and staring at it from our bedroom window. What a big thing in the mind of a 4 year old. Such a treat!

That girl is too much!! But it's the small things that are so HUGE to us when we were her age. I love to read about the Noelle stories because they always make me laugh.

What a dream come true for Noelle. She is such a funny girl.

P.S. How are the goals coming? It's been a week or two, right?
