Happy New Years to all! 2009-can you believe it? What a wonderful Christmas season this year. I know, my last post was a month ago... I have been craving some quiet blogging time. Sorry it has been so long. We kicked off December with a visit from Dan's parents. We enjoyed some of the festive things that Salt Lake offers during the holidays- Temple Square with its gorgeous lights and the Festival of Trees. We saw Santa and built ginger bread houses. The week of the 12th, the kids and I flew out to Sacramento to visit with family and to allow Dan some quiet time during finals week and peak season at work. We had a wonderful visit and felt so spoiled at my mom and dad's house. We spent the week bouncing back and forth between the families. Dan joined us on the 19th by making the long, long drive "All by himselfes" as Noelle says. We then moved over to the Aldamas for the week of Christmas!
(Still with me??) We celebrated our little Noelle's 3rd birthday at Chuck "E" Cheese's with all of the family and the Gleasons. (I didn't know it would be so fun!) Noelle's real birthday is Christmas Eve and we partied at my parent's with both sides of our family. Noelle enjoyed opening her presents and her princess cake. She is absolutely in love with her cousins Lucia and Marco and loved sharing her birthday gifts with them! This was followed by a very low key, relaxing Christmas day. We were so glad to go home for the holidays and to get "grandparent and cousin" time in. Not to mention all of the aunties and uncles. Callie and Brian also made a long treck to be there. After a quick 2 weeks, Dan drove home and I flew again with the kids. Since coming home, it has been crazy, trying to unpack and make room for all of the new toys! (Not to mention tree-take down, etc.) We are finally feeling settled.
We spent New Years Eve sledding with Johnny, Amanda, Josh and kids-topped off with a pizza/guitar hero night. (Thanks Amanda!) Noelle entered her first day of primary on Sunday and did really well. She keeps saying, "I turned 3 and am a big girl now!) I can't believe I have a sunbeam. She has had a really tough time going to nursery- so we were really proud of her for attending her class. We are now enjoying having Dan home this week, though the kids have been sick and the weather is terrible. We've hardly left the house- it is so cold and snowy. Nonetheless, it is good to be home and to finally get back to routine. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas this year too! I'm so glad to be home and back on the blog!
